Description:
Subsurface Utility Locating and One-Call locating is a rapidly growing field, not only across the United States, but around the world. This course will prepare students to utilize various types of geospatial/ geophysical theories and technologies to perform basic locating tasks. Students that successfully complete this course will be certified to the National Utility Location Contractors Association (NULCA) standard for accredited locator competency. This certification is required for individuals to meet the "qualified person" standards set by California Government Code Section 4216 and California Code of Regulations 1541 to perform subsurface installation locating activities. This course is the first in a series to prepare students for a career in One-Call locating, SUE, land surveying, GIS, and engineering.
